A senior Standard newspaper reporter is alleged to have been bribed with Sh 10 million to peddle propaganda and cover up the Sh 791 million National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.

In a 16 page affidavit by Josephine Kabura Irungu, who was the chief architect in the alleged theft of Sh 791 million, former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Miss Anne Waiguru asked her to pay Standard newspaper reporter, Mr Mwaniki Munuhe, Sh 10 million.

“She informed me that she had been working with this media personality since she joined the Government. She also instructed me to give Mr Mwaniki Munuhe the sum of Sh 10 million for purposes of propaganda and to assist clean my name,” said Kabura.

Mwaniki Munuhe was tasked with the job of cleaning the name of Waiguru and try to give Kenyans wrong information about the NYS scandal.
