For the last three years, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has been going round Counties delivering mobile clinics with an aim of cutting down maternal and child mortality rates.
The project, dubbed Beyond Zero, has seen the charming First Lady travel to all the 47 Counties giving away fully equipped mobile clinics to every County that she visits.
On August 19th, 2015, the First Lady gave the County Government of Kisumu a fully equipped mobile clinic to address cases of maternal and child mortality and being one of the counties which the highest child mortality rates in the country, you expect them to understand this better.
Instead of using the clinic to help sick mothers and children, the Kisumu County Government and Jaramogi Oginga Hospital, Kisumu, have dumped the mobile clinic for reasons best known to them but there are whispers that it was because the free facility was provided by the Jubilee Government.

As mothers and children continue to die in hospital, the mobile clinic sits pretty at the parking lot, with the management of the hospital saying they cannot use it.Here is a photo of the Beyond Zero clinic at a parking lot in the biggest referral hospital in Western Kenya.
