President Uhuru Kenyatta has castigated politicians from Central Kenya, accusing them of engaging in endless political squabbles that are threatening the unity of the region.
Addressing thousands of residents who attended the homecoming celebrations of Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Mwangi Kiunjuri, in Laikipia, Uhuru revealed that the infighting among leaders in the region is what keeps him away from visiting Central Kenya.
He noted that he hates it when Kikuyu leaders argue over something that can be resolved peacefully, especially in his presence, warning that if the trend does not change, he may never visit Mt. Kenya again.

“I like to visit Central Kenya often but I have a problem. There is so much infighting between local leaders here and the problem is that all of the leaders are my friends. And whenever I visit, they fight in front of me,” said Uhuru.
The President called on leaders to unite saying that harmony among leaders paves way for development.
