 Squatters in Munyu and Karkuret in Kieni, Nyeri County, staged demonstrations along the busy Narumoru-Nanyuki Highway yesterday ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit tomorrow.

The squatters want the President to give them title deeds and resettle them like he has done for other squatters in other regions.

They presented a petition to the County Commissioner in Narumoru in which they want Uhuru to resettle them during his visit to the County tomorrow.

The angry squatters threatened to storm Sagana State Lodge, where the President would be sleeping during his long tour of the region, to demand for their right to be resettled and own land.

They accused the Jubilee Government and previous Governments of sidelining them in the resettlement programmes and vowed not to take a no for an answer this time around.
